Huge numbers of visitors are queueing daily at the Scottish Parliament to see The Great Tapestry of Scotland currently on exhibition there. The Music And Song Of The Great Tapestry Of Scotland is on sale in the Parliament shop and doing a roaring trade. Incidentally, The Prestonpans Tapestry is currently on exhibition alongside The Bayeux Tapestry in Normandy, France. The Greentrax album The Battle Of Prestonpans 1745 is a companion to The Prestonpans Tapestry.

The latest Scottish Tradition Series album Gaelic Songs From The North Uist Tradition was launched at the School Of Scottish Studies, Edinburgh, on Friday 20th September. Already sales of this album have been excellent. This is the 25th release in this unique series.

Barbara Dickson continues to do high profile interviews on national radio and TV, and the new album To Each And Every One is selling extremely well in advance of Barbara’s 2013 UK tour commencing on 9th October and ending on 10th November.

The Flooers O’ The Forest - Songs, Music, Poems And Prose Of Flodden has had several outstanding press reviews including Scotland On Sunday (4 Stars) on 22nd September: “Also included is an informative and illustrated booklet, in this moving reconfiguration of Scotland’s most profound defeat…”

A Spanish Civil War memorial concert - When The Call Comes - is being arranged by Daniel Gray on Sunday 12th October 2013 at 7.30pm in The Canons’ Gait (downstairs), 232 Canongate, Edinburgh. The Greentrax album Scots In The Spanish Civil War is still available.


news article for Prestonpans School Children Perform at The Scottish Parliament

Infants and Primary School members of Prestonpans School sang The Toun o’ Prestonpans along with Alex Hodgson, who wrote the song, at a reception at The Scottish Parliament on Tuesday 4th September. They were brilliant and brought the house down.

Several of the children present were involved in the recording of the song in 2012, and subsequently included on the album The Music And Song Of The Great Tapestry Of Scotland. The track represents the Tapestry panel Reformation - A School In Every Parish.

The Great Tapestry of Scotland is on exhibition in the main hall of the Parliament until 21st September 2013. The album is on sale in the Parliament shop and many other outlets, including this website.

news article for David Francey Tour Dates

Scottish-born Canadian carpenter-turned-songwriter David Francey will be performing two dates in Scotland during Summer 2013: Stirling Folk Club (at the Rugby Club) on Monday August 26th, and The Gordon Arms Hotel in Yarrow on Wednesday August 28th.

He also performs at Fylde Folk Festival in Lancashire on the weekend of August 30th and 31st.

A tour of Ireland from 3rd to 12th September is sold out.
