Ian Hardie & Andy Thorburn - The Spider’s Web

Ian Hardie is a fiddler of note and a prolific composer. He was a member of Jock Tamson’s Bairns and other Edinburgh bands, and later a member of The Occasionals ceilidh band.

After moving from the Scottish Borders to Morayshire, Ian teamed up with Andy Thorburn, much in demand as a top keyboard player.

The jigs, reels, strathspeys, waltzes and slow air tunes on this album are mainly by Ian Hardie but a few are written by Andy Thorburn.

Ian plays fiddle and viola while Andy plays Bosendorfer piano and keyboards.

“A particularly inspired Hardie… exhilarating presence of Thorburn…”
(The Scotsman)
