Heather Heywood - Some Kind Of Love

Martin Carthy said of Heather Heywood:

“Heather Heywood is someone whose singing can make you quake in your boots. There is in her singing a generosity of spirit in common with the very finest. She is among - especially Scottish - women singers who have joined hands with the past and the future in a way which the men have singularly failed to do. This record is long overdue…”

Greentrax MD Ian Green agrees 100% with that quote. It was not easy to get Heather into the studio, although when she did finally venture in, she was brilliant.

As an example, she recorded the big ballad The Cruel Mother (over 9 minutes) in one take!

Accompanied by Brian McNeill (fiddle, viola, mandolin), Ian Goodwin (guitar), Wattie Lees (uilleann pipes, whistles) and James MacMillan (keyboards - established since as a highly respected classical composer and conductor).

This album is a must for all song lovers.

“Required listening, for anyone who considers themselves a connoisseur of singing…”
